Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing)
PAT testing or Portable Appliance Testing is an important part of any health & safety policy.
At Redbrook Electrical Services Ltd, we provide some of the cost-effective PAT testing services in Yorkshire and work with commercial clients to ensure their equipment is safe to use.
Legal Requirements for Commercial Clients
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 place a legal responsibility on employers, employees and self-employed persons to take reasonably practicable steps to ensure that no danger results from the use of portable appliances.
The Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) places such an obligation in the following circumstances:
- Where appliances are used by employees
- Where the public may use appliances in establishments such as hospitals, schools, hotels, shops etc
- Where appliances are supplied or hired
- Where appliances are repaired or serviced
Regular PAT testing is therefore essential to ensure your business complies with all health and safety requirements.
The level of inspection and testing required will depend on the risk of the appliance becoming faulty, the type of appliance, its use and the environment in which it is used.
Our qualified electricians provide a professional and reliable PAT testing service for domestic and commercial clients.
During our visit, we will test all items with a plug to ensure they are in full working order and present no risk to users. All items will be labelled with an Electrical Safety Pass sticker and all items tested will be recorded with an electronic register sent to the client upon completion.
